Senior Product Manager, Marketplace Buyer Experience

Westchester, IL, United States 123 950 $ à 154 880 $

Ritchie Bros. is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own how buyers find and evaluate equipment across our auction and fixed-price marketplaces.

The role focuses on the upper and middle buyer funnel: search, browse, equipment listings and the steps that turn interest into bidding or purchase intent. You will set the roadmap, work closely with design and engineering, and measure whether changes help buyers find the right equipment and move toward a purchase.

Responsabilités

  • Own the buyer journey from search and discovery through equipment evaluation and purchase intent.
  • Set the strategy and roadmap. Identify where buyers struggle and decide which problems to prioritize.
  • Improve search relevance, browse, filters and navigation across a large, varied equipment inventory.
  • Make equipment listings more useful through better specifications, photos, inspection reports, condition information and clear purchase terms.
  • Help buyers shortlist equipment, follow upcoming sales and return when relevant inventory becomes available.
  • Identify and address the points where buyers lose confidence or drop out before registration, bidding or purchase.
  • Use customer conversations, search behavior and funnel data to guide decisions and measure results.
  • Write clear product requirements and work with design and engineering through delivery, tradeoffs and iteration after launch.
  • Partner with listings, seller experience and platform teams to improve the inventory data and capabilities buyers depend on.
  • Account for differences across equipment categories, countries and languages, and keep stakeholders informed of priorities, decisions and results.

Qualifications

Required qualifications

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including ownership of buyer-facing experiences in a marketplace.
  • Marketplace experience is required. You understand how buyers find, evaluate and choose products, and how inventory quality and availability affect those decisions.
  • Experience improving search, browse, filtering, listing pages or other discovery and consideration experiences.
  • A track record of owning a product area from problem definition through launch and iteration, with measurable improvements in buyer behavior or conversion.
  • Experience setting roadmaps and making prioritization decisions across customer needs, business goals and engineering constraints.
  • Comfortable working directly with funnel data, search analytics and customer research to understand problems and evaluate results.
  • Able to write clear requirements and explain decisions to engineering, design and business stakeholders.
  • Enough technical depth to discuss APIs, inventory data and service dependencies with engineers and make informed tradeoffs.
  • Experience delivering work across multiple teams, reaching agreement on priorities and resolving dependencies.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with auctions, equipment commerce, B2B marketplaces or other high-value purchases.
  • Experience with search ranking, query understanding or personalization.
  • Experience shipping products across countries and languages.
  • Hands-on use of AI development tools such as Claude Code or Codex to investigate product behavior, explore data or prototype ideas.
