About The Team

Job Description

The Ritchie Bros. data analytics team is seeking a data analyst to join our fast-paced growing team. Our team of Analysts act as a support partner to the various business groups by providing objective and fact-based analytics to deliver deeper understanding of drivers of performance and the impact of different courses of action. Candidates will demonstrate a bias for action, present very strong analytical and problem-solving skills, be personable and have effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute complex analysis - structuring analysis, executing analysis, synthesizing results, presenting results.
• Lead / take ownership of data related products - e.g., building report dashboards to support the business and /or close support of business line analysis.
• Routine reporting - Support regular monthly business reporting requirements.
• Assist our Data Management department with identifying and prioritizing business needs.
• Assist the Supervisor in daily tasks managing application reporting.
• Ensures team members follow processes and procedures set by the company and management.
• Presentation of analysis - convene groups & teams to collaborate on a cross cutting issue or question.
• Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in analytics.
• Ability to work collaboratively with others to explore novel solutions for business stakeholders.
• Ability to synthesize their own and other’s thoughts into crisp / effective communications.
• Enthusiasm for trying new approaches and or developing creative solutions.
• Comfort speaking out in larger groups.
• Expertise with data visualization tools (Microsoft BI, Tableau, etc.).
• Expert with MS SQL.
• Expert MS Office (Excel, Access, VBA).
• Experience with cloud frameworks such as Google Big Query, AWS or MS Azure preferred.
