The Disbursements Senior is accountable for assisting and processing the consignments of US Auction and to ensure all consignments are paid on time. This position is also responsible for the reconciliation and balancing of several key balance sheet accounts and preparing the month-end working papers including but not limited to Repairs and Hauling reconciliation O/S seller reporting, Holdbacks, etc.
Responsabilités
- Review, verify and process consignment files to create settlement statements and issue accurate payment for consignments in accordance with the company’s contractual obligations.
- Able to apply purchase limits, ensure appropriate authorizations, etc. in accordance with corporate controls.
- Process cheque runs, electronic funds transfers and wire payments to consignors, lien holders and suppliers in a timely manner.
- Reconcile settlement statements to the general ledger prior to mail-out and month end.
- Reconcile repair & hauling accounts to ensure recovery of funds.
- Balance commission in various ERP systems.
- Ensure coding on cost sheets are entered into Oracle correctly.
- Produce follow-up reports such as post-sale checklists and delayed sale file lists to sale sites.
- Liaise with accounts receivable department to continually monitor post-sale changes and corrections such as price adjustments, deductions, holdbacks, collapses, and bill for deficiencies.
- Perform as a resource of knowledge to team members.
- Participation in special projects.
- Flexibility and willingness to work varied hours and occasional overtime hours.
- Perform other accounting administrative duties as required.
- Help with scheduling sale assignments.
- Leading and working out of box deals and ensuring process in place to properly process and track proceeds.
- Be a leader in change and help with implementing new processes and systems.
Qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in an operational accounting department and proven understanding of company policies/procedures. .
- Proven experience of effective communication with IT professionals to ensure the needs of the business are understood and met.
- 2-4 years – accounting experience, account reconciliation, customer service experience preferred,
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Degree in Accounting or a combination of experience and education.
- Advanced understanding of accounting and operations systems including interfaces functions between them.
- Advanced Excel skills, including extensive use of pivot tables, V-lookups and comfort with complex excel sheets.
- Time-management and problem resolution.
- Ability to work well under pressure, adjust to changing priorities and capable of meeting tight timelines.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with demonstrated abilities to motivate, coach and mentor a team.
- Desire to suggest alternatives and ideas for improvement.
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
