We conduct hundreds of live auctions each year around the world. It takes a hardworking team of energetic people in a wide variety of full-time and part-time roles to conduct a successful multi-million dollar auction – from equipment inspectors, yard managers and operators to administrative staff and customer service representatives.  

Description du poste

The Auction Operations Lead (AOL) manages all areas and activities relating to our offsite sale business (majority agricultural), while managing internal and external expectations. The AOL will be responsible for all administrative aspects of the auction, creating consistency and accuracy within the inspection data, and will uphold the Ritchie Bros. philosophy of providing exceptional service. The AOL is the subject matter expert on all aspects of the sale lifecycle, from getting the contract signed to executing the sale, to paying out our consignor(s). This multi-functional position is constantly dealing with tight deadlines while ensuring high-quality deliverables.

Responsabilités

  • To build and execute sales from start to finish with the help of other teammates.
  • To create an environment which reflects the company philosophy of exceptional customer service by monitoring and managing service levels.
  • Must be very detail orientated, as our unit encourages very high standards for accurate equipment listings, as well as website accuracy.
  • Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and safety of your team, co-workers and customers.
  • Set up and maintain auction information systems – MARS, Salesforce, Salesite, Wrike, Oracle, SumTotal, Sharepoint, RB website, TAL Admin.
  • Contracts – enter contracts and equipment specifications into the auction system.
  • Pre-Inspection Quality Control – manage all asset pre-inspection quality control, ensuring consistency & quality for all equipment data on our public facing website and bidding applications.
  • Titles – process vehicle titles, registrations, and legal transfer documents.
  • VIN & Year Verification – manage the year and VIN verification for all assets sold in your respective sales.
  • Seasonal Auction Guide – prepare and edit auction guides pages for each of your respective sales.
  • Sale Sequence & Shoot Prices – manage final auction sequencing, shoot prices, ring splits, tied lots for each of your respective sales.
  • Cost Sheets – enter any incurred expenses via the PO system.
  • Assist to recruit and train Customer Service Representatives for auctions.
  • Balance auction results, and take care of accounts receivable, collections and banking responsibilities.
  • Tax Adjustments – ensure proper Federal and Provincial tax jurisdiction rules are followed and implemented.
  • Payout – verify that funds have been collected, and that correct lien holders are paid.
  • Build strong relationships with banks, taxation offices, and motor vehicle branches to obtain information and to resolve issues.
  • Assist to train and oversee Customer Service Representatives for auctions.
  • Other duties as assigned per business needs

Qualifications

  • 5 years of related experience
  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to master new systems and to enter data quickly and accurately
  • A thorough understanding of Agricultural Equipment specifics for data entry
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to take initiative
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Able to set priorities and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Positive attitude
  • Good communication skills - strong on diplomacy, a patient listener, strong written communication skills, proven conflict resolution skills
  • Team player, ability to relate to a diverse customer base and workforce, ability to put people at ease and the ability to easily network with others
  • Adaptable and willing to adjust to new ideas or change
  • High level of integrity and ethics
  • Ability to work in high pressure situations
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record
  • Experience with any of the following is an asset: accounts receivable, account reconciliation, sales tax collection/remittance, DMV document processing
  • Regular overtime surrounding peak seasons (April, June, October) & our seasonal auction guides are a requirement of this position
  • Work both indoors and outdoors year-round, and climb on and off large equipment and trucks
