Data Analytics Lead - Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada (# 3352)

This role involves both hands-on data work and strategic enablement initiatives to equip analysts and business teams with the tools and knowledge needed to maximize the value of data. While some individual contribution will be required to support other teams, the primary focus is on building scalable data enablement capabilities across the business.

Responsabilités

Data Enablement & Self-Service Analytics

  • Develop and implement scalable frameworks for self-service analytics, ensuring that business users can efficiently access and analyze data.
  • Define and promote best practices for data governance, quality, and accessibility to improve data trust and usability.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and enable them to build their own insights with minimal reliance on central data teams.
  • Conduct training, workshops, and documentation initiatives to enhance data literacy across the organization.

Hands-On Data Insights & Solution Development

  • Act as an expert consultant for teams needing guidance on advanced analytics, dashboarding, and data interpretation.
  • Develop and maintain analytical solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data models to support business decision-making.
  • Provide hands-on support in SQL, data transformations, and BI tool optimization for key strategic initiatives.

BI Platform Enablement & Governance

  • Drive adoption and best practices for BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, and Power BI to empower business teams.
  • Maintain and optimize data visualization and reporting environments, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend new BI tools and techniques to enhance the analytics ecosystem.

Collaboration & Strategic Leadership

  • Work closely with IT, data engineering, and business teams to ensure data infrastructure and tooling align with business needs.
  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to streamline data accessibility and usability.
  • Advocate for data-driven decision-making by influencing and aligning leadership around data strategy.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Identify gaps in current data accessibility and implement solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish feedback loops with analysts and business users to iteratively enhance data products and enablement resources.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics and BI.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data analytics and enablement, with a focus on empowering non-technical users to leverage data effectively.
  • Strong hands-on skills in SQL, data modeling, and BI tools such as Tableau, Looker, and Power BI.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable self-service analytics frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Ability to work independently while also providing leadership and enablement to analysts and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an online marketplace or similar industry is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change in data literacy and self-service analytics adoption.
