• Manage, monitor, maintain and implement the auction site’s Yard and Inspection Services Program standards, procedures, best practices and guidelines and integrate those efforts with the yard layout and equipment set up procedures. 

• Manage direct and indirect reports as you work to develop a strong team with clear succession plans, including setting performance objectives and conducting annual performance reviews. 

• Assist the training department with developing and delivering related training and certification programs to employees as required. 

• Assist in the on boarding and training of the site staff (Operations, Sales, Admin etc) 

• Maintain and promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees is top priority for all. 

• Assist in the development, evolution and adherence of our WH&S policies and procedures including our efforts to achieve COR certification. 

• Oversee the efforts of Refurbishing as it relates to the operation’s needs, quoting, staffing, schedule, budget, quality control and accounting of refurbishing operations. 

• Oversee site maintenance management. 

• Oversee the customer experience as it relates to Yard and Inspections at the auction site. 

• Ensure equipment inventory control systems and equipment data collection processes are in place at the auction site (eg. inspections, photos, insurance and re-consignments etc) 

• Recommend best practices to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of Yard and Inspections processes. 

• Oversee the production of sale advertising materials in collaboration with relevant stakeholders. 

• Monitor key performance indicators and generate reports on key operational areas. 

• Integrate the efforts of the Operation’s Team with the objectives of the Sales team. 

• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director Operations.

• College Degree or equivalent experience   
• 5-6 years in a similar position 

 

• Strategically planning operations for maximizing operational efficiency and profitability while meeting business demands, including; ensure inventory demands are met, assess scope of work required for new business opportunities and implement plan of action in adherence to contractual requirements 
• Lead, train, and develop all Direct Reports and other Associates in a manner that ensures optimum performance
• Oversea Yard & Equipment Managers daily operations for the equipment procurement, inventory management, maintenance function and makes recommendations for alternatives if needed
• Analyze operations, identify performance issues, and recommend and implement corrective action
• Implement and maintain safety plan according to company and OSHA standards, including training, coaching and communicating new policies and procedures, as it pertains to safety
