Description

The Facility Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of our 167,000 sq ft Burnaby office. This will include preventive maintenance programs, as well as repairs that will need to be made from time to time. The Facility Manager will also be involved in responsibilities and decisions that are part of the functionality of the site, such as shipping, security, reception, etc. This would include involvement in operations of the administrative office relating to furniture needs and health and safety issues.

Qualifications

High School Diploma, 5 years Supervisory/Management experience in Facility role. Must have experience with preparing and overseeing budget. Must possess strong organizational and customer service skills. Must have some computer skills i.e. Microsoft outlook, excel, word. Must have a Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and supervise maintenance and repairs of the buildings, not covered by the landlord. Provide facility services for tenants per terms of the lease and to report any issues to V.P. Global Operations. Manage space requirements including ordering additional furniture when required or the installation of additional services (electrical, network or phone) when required.
  • Manage and administer the security system
  • Establish or maintain ongoing relationships with facilities providers including janitorial, general (Non-IT, photocopier) equipment, HVAC systems and furniture maintenance, etc. Regularly monitor performance of these suppliers and report problems to V.P. Global Operations Support
  • Monitor, develop and review all policies and procedures ensuring that operational requirements and all applicable laws are being met and complied with. Participate with the Health and Safety Committee to monitor and improve safety issues.
  • Will provide and implement solutions for Building repairs and maintenance.
  • Will provide input to management and staff for safety issues and policies.
  • Will provide input to V.P. Global Auction support for any Building improvements.
  • Will provide guidance to Facility Department to ensure the Burnaby Administration Office is meeting company standards.
  • Must be able to provide solutions to staff and tenant for any building or safety concerns
  • Must be able to problem solve and make sound decisions in regards to building repair and upkeep
  • Must be able to oversee projects with outside contractors to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to be flexible and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
