Description

  • The Team Leader, Fin Ops is responsible for managing and training the Disbursements team, maximizing individual strengths, and striving for excellence in customer service. Working closely with the Manager, Financial Operations the Team Leader, Fin Ops will be responsible for the overall management of the day-to-day operations of the Disbursements and Review departments and will ensure consignors are accurately compensated and in accordance with the company’s contractual obligations and ensures timely executed payments. The Team Leader, Fin Ops will oversee the company’s Disbursements of Auction proceeds for Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Pty Ltd. and its affiliates. The Team Leader, Fin Ops will ensure compliance with liability recording and remittance controls and procedures. The Team Leader, Fin Ops will be responsible for the review and balancing of several key balance sheet accounts including but not limited to Auction proceeds, Holdbacks, Inventory and Advances.

Qualifications

  • 5 years previous Finance experience/and or accounting experience
  • 1-2 years leading a team or acting in a leadership capacity
  • Effective leadership, relationship building and team interaction skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, evaluate, develop, and performance manage all direct reports.
  • Assist with month-end close, prepare and review monthly journal entries as required.
  • Coordinate, assign and review the daily work of associates.
  • Set priorities for the team and coordinate resources to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines.
  • Identify, lead and manage projects and initiatives directed towards improved processes and efficiencies within department.
  • Ensure consignor files are settled in accordance with the company’s contractual obligations and within company policy.
  • Liaise with APAC Controller to record revenue and GTV for non-standard contract Risk deals correctly.
  • Ensure purchase limits and appropriate authorizations are compliant with internal controls and policies.
  • Investigate and resolve consignor related issues independently and/or in collaboration with sale site managers and internal Seller and Buyer Services managers.
  • Ensure Auction Settlements processes and procedures are following internal controls.
  • Investigate and resolve settlement related issues independently and/or in collaboration with sale site staff, sellers and lien holders.
  • Ensure the settlement statements are reconciled to the general ledger.

Assist in the preparation of annual departmental budgets, performance and salary reviews.
