We’re looking for a Sales Tax Specialist. The work location for this position is Lincoln, Nebraska. 

The Opportunity:

The Sales Tax Specialist works closely with the Supervisor of Sales Tax, Sales Tax Team Lead, Sales Tax Senior and Sales Tax Associates for all Sales Tax related to the United States operations.

 

In this role you’ll:

  •          Prepare & file state and local sales & use tax returns as required.
  •          Serve as a resource of knowledge related to Sales Tax and exemption applications.
  •          Ensure tax laws and regulations are being applied correctly with a sample of each auction
  •          Investigate and resolve buyer sales tax issues in collaboration with Site Managers and Sales Tax Associates.
  •          Ensure that procedures are in compliance with SOX requirements.
  •          Lead by example and role model in work ethics and organizational citizenship.
  •          Assist in pulling documentation for audits as needed
  •          Conduct sales tax research for tax law changes, new entities and/or new products or services.
  •          Monthly reconciliation of sales tax liability accounts to the general ledger.
  •          Resolving general ledger and customer account discrepancies.
  •          Other duties or special projects as assigned

Must Have:

  • Minimum 2 years associate degree, prefer Bachelors in accounting
  • 2 years related experience preferred.
  • MS Excel experience (Formula Experience)
  • Excellent English written and spoken communication
