The Sales Director will be reporting to the Vice President, Sales, and working in close collaboration with the Regional Sales Managers, the Sales Director is accountable for overseeing the activities of the Sales Managers, and the generation of Gross Auction Proceeds.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Regional Managers in preparing annual playbooks, including marketing and sales strategies, and incorporating alignment with corporate strategic plans.
  • Prepare strategies to develop the region's top customers, to generate new business, and to win back dormant customers.
  • Foster a culture of clear, direct communication within the region so that roles and responsibilities are understood, inter-region and interdepartmental cooperation is encouraged, employee engagement is maximized, and changes to policy are understood and adopted.
  • Manage the performance of Regional Sales Managers, including performance management, coaching, succession planning, career development and compensation.
  • Manage the overall activities of the Regional/Territory Managers through regular meetings. Together with Regional Sales Managers, set and reset priorities as needed.
  • Price all deals, as well as participate in the preparation and presentation of all major deals in your region.
  • Build and maintain relationships with all key customers in your region.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing and/or directing a field sales team in a quota-driven business environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing sales initiatives and business plans to support evolving business goals, including delivering and executing sales growth strategies.
  • Strong business acumen: knowledge of business theory, business processes, and operations, management principles, and budgets.
  • Strong leadership, management, and coaching skills are essential.
  • A high degree of customer service orientation. You care about building authentic and long-lasting relationships with customers.
  • Previous experience working effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Spend 70% of your time traveling with your field sales team.
  • Overnight travel will be required.
  • Climb up and down on large construction equipment regularly.
