Job Description

To keep our several international payrolls running smoothly, we are looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team. While our team is based in Breda (NL), we are open to remote candidates located in Germany or Belgium.

Responsibilities

As a Payroll Specialist at Ritchie Bros. you are responsible for multiple complex payrolls across the EMEA and APAC region. You will manage the full cycle payroll ensuring that calculations are provided accurate and salaries are paid on time.

Together with your colleagues of the payroll team, most of them located in the Breda office, your main responsibility is the processing, reviewing and reconciliation of payrolls, assuring their accuracy, compliance and timelines. Our definition of complex payroll is when you work for various legal entities spread over several countries which, of course, have their own set of rules regarding compliancy. Taking into account that Ritchie Bros. has an ever-changing global presence and therefore setting up expats is part of your task, there is no week without challenges.

You will assist in accounting for all payroll related costs. You will add payroll entries into the general ledger, either manually or files that have been prepared by our payroll vendor. Your experience in accounting will be very useful to execute the end of the month/quarter/year activities.

Day to day tasks also include:

  • Answer payroll-specific queries from employees, managers and business partners
  • Reconcile timesheets, overtime, sick days, vacation days
  • Manage relationships with various internal and external stakeholders and payroll vendors
  • Support various internal and external audits
  • Optimize and work on continuous improvement of our payroll processes


 

Qualifications

You're skilled at handling the pressure and stress of the monthly payroll cycle, thriving in a fast-paced office environment where strict deadlines and ambiguity are the norm. Additionally, you possess an intrinsic drive to improve, develop, and initiate new processes, continuously seeking ways to enhance efficiency and performance. Furthermore, you have:

  • At least 3 years working experience in managing complex and/ or high-volume payrolls, with proven experience in the NL.
  • Experience in (payroll) accounting environment
  • Experience working in an international environment
  • Professional level in English and Dutch
  • Intermediate Excel skills and the ability to learn new tools and systems fast
  • Hands-on approach, attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
  • Worked with an outsourced payroll vendor (ADP SPM knowledge is a plus)
  • Education in the payroll profession (PDL or VPS)
