It takes a hardworking team of energetic people in a wide variety of full-time and part-time roles to conduct a successful multi-million dollar auction – from equipment inspectors, yard managers and operators to administrative staff and customer service representatives.  

Job Description

The Yard Staff-Wash Bay Attendant is responsible for the safe cleaning and preparation of equipment, while also assisting with routine maintenance in preparation for auction. Strict adherence to the Ritchie Bros. standard of customer service is always expected of the Yard Staff-Wash Bay Attendant

Responsibilities

  • Wash and prepare equipment for auctions.
  • Move equipment to the wash bay.
  • Perform regular site maintenance, including:
    • Mowing the grass
    • Spraying for weeds
  • Drives/operates heavy and light equipment.
  • Operates forklift to load/unload stationary row equipment.
  • Boosts equipment.
  • Basic assembly of equipment i.e. dozer blades, etc.
  • Checks fluid and fuel levels on equipment.
  • Lot number equipment.
  • Sets out signage, flagging, and trash receptacles for auction day.
  • Parks sold equipment on the ramp.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating heavy machinery
  • Able to operate a large 36,000 lbs forklift is an asset
  • Good spoken and written English is required
  • A track-record of working safely, and helping others work safely, too
  • You must be able to relate really well with customers and team members
  • You like to work in a team, helping out wherever needed; but you can also self-start and work on your own
  • You're organized, and can handle lots of tasks at once
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • You like to work hard, but still have fun on the job
