Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Regional CDL Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting freight to and from designated military installations within a regional area. This role requires a over the road mentality with a focus on safety, timeliness, and legal compliance, as well as adherence to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and company policies. The Regional CDL Driver will manage Hours of Service (HOS) to ensure safe driving and work within all regulatory guidelines. This role has the opportunity for a $5,000 sign on bonus for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to transport freight to assigned regional destinations, ensuring timely and efficient deliveries.
  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including FMCSA and company-specific regulations.
  • Ensure that all deliveries are completed on time while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, documenting and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
  • Monitor and manage Hours of Service (HOS) to maintain legal driving limits and avoid violations, ensuring driver logs and records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, load details, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance, using electronic logging devices (ELDs) as required.
  • Effectively communicate with dispatch to coordinate schedules, deliveries, and any issues that may arise during transit.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper load securing, vehicle operation, and hazard awareness.
  • Operate and handle freight with care, ensuring that it is loaded, secured, and unloaded in accordance with safety standards.
  • Handle and resolve any issues related to freight delivery, including delays, route changes, or customer concerns.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with customers, dispatchers, and fellow team members.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of heavy equipment or transportation industry experience.
