  • The Remarketing Team Leader is responsible for the day-to-day operational oversight of the remarketing team, ensuring the efficient processing, preparation, and sale of salvage vehicles and other assets across IAA facilities. Reporting to the Head of Remarketing, this role focuses on driving operational excellence, meeting KPIs, and delivering a seamless customer experience.The Team Leader will play a pivotal role in mentoring and developing a team of Remarketing Executives, ensuring the team performs at a high level while contributing to IAA's growth objectives during this startup phase. The role also involves collaboration with internal stakeholders, including operations and sales teams, to support process improvements and deliver outstanding results.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily activities of the remarketing team, ensuring assets are processed, prepared, and listed for sale efficiently and to the highest standards.
  • Support initiatives to drive buyer participation growth locally & internationally.
  • Monitor team performance against SLA’s and KPIs, such as registration cancellations & refund timely processing.
  • Support the Head of Remarketing by implementing operational strategies to streamline processes and meet agreed KPIs.
  • Manage relevant customer-focused processes (e.g., Personal Effects Process) to ensure SLA adherence.
  • Work closely with the operations team to align on vehicle intake, preparation, and sale processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Remarketing Executives, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and identify development opportunities to build team capability.
  • Set clear individual and team objectives, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members as the business scales.
  • Prepare team performance reports for the Head of Remarketing, identifying areas for improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting on stock status, sales volumes, and key operational metrics.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in IAA internal systems, ensuring transparency of asset processing and team activities.
  • Support the Head of Remarketing in creating and delivering reports for senior management and key clients.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including sales, operations, and transport teams, to resolve challenges and to deliver a proactive approach to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Address and resolve complex operational issues (e.g., encumbrances, denied claims assets, WOVR status) to ensure assets are ready for sale.
  • Support client reporting requirements by providing accurate and timely insights when needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and team efficiencies, contributing to the scaling of the business.
  • Assist with implementing new systems, processes, and tools like AI allocation automation to support remarketing operations.
  • Play an active role in ensuring the remarketing function evolves with the needs of the growing business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Team Leader or supervisory role.
  • Strong background in operations, auction management, or the automotive industry preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and delivering against performance targets in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with internal systems, such as vehicle processing, inventory, or auction management tools.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities, with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and consultation skills with an ability to manage key stakeholders at all levels across the business and ability to work collaboratively with all departments
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail to manage operational processes efficiently.
  • Proficiency in performance reporting and KPI management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
  • Ability to study, analyse and interpret complex activities and/or information to improve new practices or develop new approaches.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support the scaling of operations in a startup environment.
  • Professional work office environment.
  • As IAA has locations and customers located around the Australia and New Zealand region, travel may be required to these locations to attend meetings and perform site visits.
