Job Description

The Regional Transportation Managers will report to the Senior Director of Towing Operations and will serve as vital links between the transportation department and field operations (RVP’S), focusing on addressing logistics issues and optimizing dispatch strategies in each market to meet performance expectations. Their strategic involvement in market initiatives will enable them to identify and resolve logistics-related issues promptly. The Regional Transportation Manager will be instrumental in various areas.

This is a Remote Opportunity but will be assigned to a specific region of IAA Operations; West, Central & East.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the OnTime Performance of the region towing program against service level agreements. Manage delivery timelines, performance metrics and penalties for non-compliance. Continuously monitors transportation operations to ensure daily compliance with SLA’s.
  • Build and communicate daily and weekly performance reports and provide critical commentary about needs and results
  • Implementing and updating dispatch processes to stay abreast of industry changes, mitigating the risk of outdated policies and procedures. Realize improved service levels, enhanced innovation, and creativity.
  • Ensuring dispatch teams receive up-to-date and continuous training to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Assist in the training of new staff and open training resource to focus on auction logistics processes. Reduce training cost utilizing regional transportation managers in lieu of contractors for transportation including internal tow.
  • Reviewing and managing tow costs in respective regions, overseeing SLA expenses, aligning strategies to reduce costs in targeted markets to drive revenue growth.
  • Liason between our client and transportation providers ensuring the client experience on service and delivery are met
  • Develop regional/local actions and programs that will result in improved tower network - Acquisition, Participation, and Retention. Assisting the transportation department and branch manager in developing / maintaining relationships, recruiting, and onboarding towers to maintain a skilled and reliable external network.
  • Implement a common carrier strategy to partner with the cost-effective and reliable carriers, including participating in quarterly business reviews.
  • Develop and implement a system designed around Key Performance Indicators that measure and improve tower transportation performance, inbound delivery, and other measures.
  • Manage relationships with transportation-related vendors that provide services to assigned region(s). Assist in overseeing internal tow drivers in markets where dedicated internal tow supervisors are absent, ensuring adherence to standards and protocols.
  • Assisting the Senior Director of Towing Operations in all transportation-related tasks to support seamless operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Assisting with catastrophe response in markets, including managing and communicating with external and internal towers to ensure swift and effective response.
  • Collaborates with centralized transportation teams to ensure success through all ongoing deliverables
  • Participates in any transportation sourcing events 
  • Develop medium and heavy-duty towing and disposal network 
  • Tow app regional training
  • Build a strong and comprehensive dispatch team that is dispersed across the region 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Equivalent 
  • 5-7 yuears of related experience 
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time 

Competencies:

  • Towing/logistics industry knowledge and experience
  • A strong acumen with OnTime Performance (OTP) management
  • Experience in service provider network management
  • Ability to analyze data for insights and formulate a recommendation for action
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform meaningful analysis of the regional transportation network and effectively communicate analysis to management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Strong soft skills in the areas of relationship building and leadership

The expected compensation range for this role starts around $70,000 annually and will be based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. This role also qualifies for up to 10% of their annual salary in an incentive performance bonus.
