Job Description

The Senior Territory Point of Contact (STPOC) main responsibility is to work within its Government Services business, specifically to meet the contractual requirements of the Surplus Term Sales contract and other Federal contracts with multiple agencies including the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). They determine the site location, shipping schedule and negotiate terms with the appropriate agencies. The position is responsible for researching, evaluating, and determining the value and functionality of each item for auction and its value. They will determine the profitability of each auction within their area.

Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact and decision maker for DLA DISPOSITION SERVICES and government site personnel.
  • Conduct weekly joint inventory process with the DLA Disposition /Services site POC, identify item discrepancies, and negotiate terms of disposition of items.
  • Responsible for evaluating all items for auction (which include high dollar items), determining the value and functionality of items, whether items qualify for auction or are scrap and should be accepted or rejected based on inspection, pictures, and investigation.
  • Researches each item up for auction to determine whether it is the actual item listed based on the NSN through research and product knowledge.
  • Independently works to make sure all processes are followed and checked with the DLA, including items, quantity of items product quality and correct identification are correct and ready for auction.
  • Controls the flow of products into Gov Planet with precise evaluation, detailed planning, and execution.
  • Evaluate locations for product, based on various factors such as yard or warehouse, transportation costs, etc. and determines the most efficient locations for product.
  • Leads and coordinates delivery schedules with military bases, based on availability and timing of CDL Logistics to ensure operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  • Facilitates pick-up of property by Transportation Service providers from both assigned DLA DISPOSITION Services’ sites and IronPlanet locations
  • Complete GovPlanet’s inspections process for each item and ensure that all information is accurate for the property listing on IronPlanet’s marketplace.
  • Maintain and discern information in IronPlanet’s system’s related to logistics and loading details for each assigned site.
  • Identify property that requires relocation to an IronPlanet’s location with DLA DISPOSITION SERVICES’ site POC.
  • Coordinate with IronPlanet’s Logistics’ Manager on property requiring relocating to an IronPlanet Storage location.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and requirements are met at assigned Gov/Planet Storage locations as specified by the Storage Services Agreement.
  • Ensure that individuals picking-up property has a valid Transportation Release form(s) for property and loads he correct item(s).
  • Ensure inventory processes and controls are followed completely.
  • Responsibility for both site level operational and a mentoring role within the field operations team
  • Responsibilities for usable surplus generated by federal contracts and be responsible for all operations at their assigned facilities and may split their time between locations as well.
  • Required to maintain a CDL-A and/or continuous DOT training to fulfill an area’s transportation needs with various types of conveyances.
  • Leverage their experience to assist their manager in training new team members and mentoring other members of the region’s team.
  • Subject matter experts in our procedures at customer’s locations and our sites.
  • The STPOC will also assist in driving our safety goal to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 8 years of heavy equipment, transportation industry, or warehousing experience.
  • Mechanical experience required.
  • Ability to follow processes and high attention to detail to get things right.
  • Experience with rolling and non-rolling stock.
  • Technical knowledge of construction, agricultural and materials handling equipment including operation, component functions and attachment operations.
  • Prior experience working with government agencies is viewed as a plus. Be able to maneuver on and about various types of equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
  • Be able to function in weather environments that include hot and cold temperature ranges.
  • Must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to access base(s) without delayed entry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • The work environment includes indoor and outdoor activities, office and Auto yard environment
