Job Description
The Manager of Software Engineering for HR Systems has full responsibility of the software engineering activities related to RB Global’s HR Systems. The person will manage a group of Technical Product Owners, Software Engineers and Software QA engineers, with responsibilities for creating an innovative and productive environment for engineering teams to deliver business value on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- Hire and retain a group of talented Technical Product Owners, Software Engineers and QA Engineers, motivate and mentor team to achieve maximum productivity, creating a productive, enabling environment and assuring resilient, self-healing software products with maximum quality.
- Partner with Staff Engineers, Product Management, and the People (HR) team to come up with a product roadmap and development schedule for HR/HCM systems. Break down a large body of work into multiple phases of development tasks, find and allocate development and testing resources to hit project milestones.
- Build skillsets within the team through partnership with Engineering Enablement teams and People Technology team (HRIS), and assure team members have the skills, tools, and domain knowledge necessary to achieve their team mission.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree (or higher) in computer science or equivalent.
- Proven capability of managing software development projects and leading a team of engineers for the entire cycle of the product development, from requirements gathering, to producing software specification, developing and testing software, until successful release of the projects.
- Good communication skills, with quick and precise comprehension of ever-changing HR/HCM business processes.
- Extensive work experience with modern HR/HCM SaaS applications such as Oracle HCM, Workday or Peoplesoft. Experience managing teams that have integrated these applications with other systems using enterprise integration platforms such as Oracle Integration Cloud, Dell Boomi or similar.
- Demonstrated to be a quick learner, willing to meet the challenge and take on new technology and deploy it onto our software system whenever it is necessary.
- Demonstrated to be a solid individual contributor with strong team skills who leads or carries out medium to large projects independently.
