Job Description

The Data Analytics Associate serves as a support partner to various department groups and leaders within Ritchie Bros. Financial Services. They provide objective and fact-based analytical reviews to deliver quantitative insights of past performance drivers (descriptive), forecasting of current and future opportunities (predictive), and opportunities to drive positive change (prescriptive). The data analyst will also be responsible for supporting a suite of business intelligence reports to ensure that performance metrics are transparent and accessible.  

Responsibilities

  • Independently execute complex data analysis - structuring analysis, executing analysis, synthesizing results, presenting results. Act as an analytics partner for different department units and functional teams within the organization
  • Lead / take ownership of data related products - e.g., building report dashboards to support the business and teams.
  • Translate business questions into specific requirements and then deliver meaningful insights through a combination of expert technical skill and deep understanding of the business problem.
  • Execute analysis of the company’s customer and business data, including predictive modeling, forecasting and statistical analysis
  • Proactively identify solutions for improving the effectiveness of business activities within sales, credit, and funding operations.
  • Routine reporting - Support regular monthly business reporting requirements
  • Presentation of analysis - convene groups & teams to collaborate on issue or questions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.  

 

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics 
  • Strong understanding of data analysis including collection, exploration, modeling, interpretation, and communication 
  • Previous experience in creating data visualizations of insights and “self-serve” dashboards / reporting tools 
  • Additional experience in Tableau, Salesforce, KNIME, R, etc. is considered an asset.
