Job Description
The role of Manager, IT Infrastructure Services is to plan, build, maintain and support the global IT Infrastructure of RB Global and to ensure highly available IT systems and services to all global RB Global locations 24 x 7 x 365. The other significant responsibility is to collaboratively work with other IT managers in the definition and construction of cost-effective business solutions. The purpose of this position is to direct the activities of the IT Technical Services department.
Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for the cost-effective, highly available delivery of IT on-premise and cloud infrastructure services to the business and to ensure the efficient design, delivery and operation of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing network, storage and server infrastructure, database systems, and data communications services. Continuously evaluates opportunities to improve the cost of delivery of IT infrastructure services while maintaining system performance and availability targets
- Resource planning and staff management for infrastructure upgrades and replacement, routine maintenance and business enhancement projects. Setting goals for all team members, assisting them with their career development and acting a coach and mentor.
- Providing technical leadership to the team and effectively managing and coordinating resources through critical incident situations
- Working with the Infrastructure Architect and the technical leads in the department, developing an infrastructure roadmap, blending both on-premise and cloud infrastructure strategies, that ensures cost effective infrastructure performance, availability and capacity that meets current and future business needs and is supports corporate priorities.
- Direct research on potential technology solutions and infrastructure enhancements to address business requirements; select and implement operations tools to support quality and cost-effective delivery of service. This is done through performing proof of concept exercises, vendor demonstrations and IT industry market research
- Working with team leads, researches technology directions/solutions, conducts cost benefit analysis, and makes recommendations to the Director, IT Operations & Infrastructure Services for infrastructure operating and capital investments.
- During critical incidences coordinates activities of team leads for situations working toward timely resolution of the situation. When root causes of issues are uncertain, makes decisions about what direction problems evaluation and resolution will take.
- Manages and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, security, and wireless implementations
- Conducts research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts. Negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.

Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years relative experience.
- Experience with IaaS and PaaS strategies
- Experience in disaster recovery programs and protocol
- Experience managing a production database administration practice group.
- Experience implementing and managing enterprise-grade NAS and SAN storage systems.
- Experience implementing and managing server and storage private cloud services in the enterprise.
- Has a strong understanding of ITIL Service design has successfully implemented selected design elements and has established operating and service level agreements with stakeholders.
- May have to work through the night if a critical incident is in progress, average around 1 or 2 times a year.
