Description
The Auction Operations Crew Member is a versatile role supporting the successful execution of auctions and
daily site operations. Crew Members work across a wide variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to
equipment handling, customer service, driving, site upkeep, and auction-day support. This position requires
flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and customer experience while performing duties that
ensure our auctions run smoothly and professionally
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license (class requirements may vary by location/role).
- Strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and following procedures.
- Ability to operate or willingness to learn to operate light/heavy equipment
(training provided) - Customer service skills with a professional, approachable demeanor.
- Willingness to perform physical labor and work outdoors in varying weather
conditions. - Flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, and weekends during auction
periods. - Previous experience in yard operations, equipment handling, or auction
environments. - Knowledge of farming, construction, or industrial equipment.
- Certification in First Aid, Loader Operation, or other relevant safety training.
- Experience in customer-facing roles (hospitality, retail, service industry).
Responsibilities
- Support auction yard operations by checking in, staging, tagging, and releasing equipment.
- Safely operate light and heavy equipment, following company standards and certifications.
- Assist customers on-site and provide sale-day support such as shuttle driving, cart driving, or customer service.
- Maintain site cleanliness, perform janitorial and groundskeeping tasks, and operate support vehicles like water
trucks. - Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance at all times while reporting hazards promptly.
- Work collaboratively with yard management, operations staff, and the inspection team to deliver seamless
auction events. - Contribute ideas for continuous improvement while upholding company values and delivering excellent
customer experiences. - Work is performed both outdoors and indoors, often in fast-paced auction environments.
- Physical activity includes walking, lifting, climbing, and equipment operation.
- Seasonal weather conditions may require work in heat, cold, rain, or dusty environments.
- Shifts vary and may include long hours during auction events
Auction Yard Operations
- Assist in all pre- and post-auction yard procedures, including equipment check-in,
staging, display, and release. - Operate, drive, and maneuver heavy/light equipment following company policies
and safety standards. - Support the DIA (Delivered, Inspected, Advertised) Team with photos, clerking,
and verification of listings. - Apply lot numbers and ensure proper equipment tagging.
- Conduct basic equipment assembly, fueling, fluid checks, and light maintenance.
Customer Service & Auction Support
- Greet and assist customers in the yard and auction area; provide guidance to
ensure a positive experience. - Support sale-day operations such as equipment movement, cart driving, signage
setup, and customer shuttling. - Serve in roles as needed (e.g., Shuttle Driver, Cart Driver, Customer Service
Representative, Cook, etc.).
Site & Facility Maintenance - Maintain auction site appearance and functionality by performing janitorial,
housekeeping, and groundskeeping duties (all season). - Conduct facility inspections and report issues promptly to management
