Description
The Sales Compensation Analyst supports recurring sales compensation administration, commission calculation support, exception tracking, data validation, and reporting activities. This role helps ensure sales compensation programs are administered accurately and on time in accordance with approved plan rules and governance requirements.
The role supports Sales Compensation Operations by maintaining data inputs, preparing routine calculations and reports, researching exceptions, and partnering with team members to resolve stakeholder questions. More complex exceptions, governance questions, or plan interpretation issues are escalated to the Senior Analyst, Team Lead, or Sales Compensation Manager.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Analytics, Accounting, or related field; equivalent directly relevant experience may be considered.
- 2-4 years of experience in compensation, finance operations, sales operations, HR operations, analytics, reporting, or related field.
- Coursework or certification in compensation, finance, analytics, Excel, or data tools is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Support recurring commission calculations, payout preparation, exception tracking, data validation, and compensation reporting for assigned sales populations.
- Research and respond to routine compensation inquiries, data questions, and exception items while escalating complex issues to the Senior Analyst, Team Lead, or Manager.
- Maintain and validate compensation data inputs, files, reports, dashboards, and administrative records to support accurate plan operations and payout cycles. Support Finance/FP&A with periodic estimates of incentive plan expense (commissions, SPIFFs, bonuses) to inform quarterly and annual accrual entries.
- Assist with ICM/system updates, testing, plan administration activities, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Support process improvement, data quality cleanup, and team workload needs during high-volume compensation cycles.
- Apply approved plan rules and standard procedures to routine calculations, reporting, and exception tracking.
- Determine when compensation questions or exceptions are outside routine guidance and require escalation.
- Prioritize assigned tasks based on payout cycle timing, data readiness, and stakeholder urgency.
- Validate completeness and accuracy of routine data inputs and reports before submission or review.
- Identify data inconsistencies, missing inputs, or calculation issues and work with team members to resolve.
- Research routine stakeholder questions and document findings clearly.
- Support testing and validation of system updates, plan changes, and reporting outputs.
- Maintain accuracy while working through multiple time-sensitive compensation cycle deliverables.
- Minimal travel required; occasional travel may be needed for planning sessions, stakeholder meetings, system implementation activities, or leadership reviews.
