Description

We are looking for a highly organized, experienced, and performance-driven Social Media Specialist to support day-to-day execution across Ritchie Bros.’ global social channels. This role is responsible for content publishing, platform management, community engagement, and performance tracking while helping bring campaigns, events, and brand storytelling to life across social platforms.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Social Media & Brand Advocacy and works closely with Brand, PR, Customer Insights, Creative, and regional teams to ensure consistent, high-quality execution aligned with business priorities. You will execute across platforms using Hootsuite as our primary social media management platform to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across channels.

You will play a key role in ensuring our social presence is timely, consistent, engaging, and aligned with brand standards while supporting broader initiatives including campaigns, events, and internal advocacy through EveryoneSocial.

Key Responsibilities Content Execution & Publishing

  • Execute day-to-day publishing across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and emerging platforms using Hootsuite
  • Manage the content calendar to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent execution across channels
  • Optimize copy, tagging, formatting, and publishing workflows based on platform best practices
  • Partner closely with Creative, Copywriting, and Brand teams to ensure strong execution

Platform Management & Community Engagement

  • Monitor comments, messages, and conversations across platforms
  • Respond in a timely, professional, and on-brand manner while escalating when needed
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen engagement with customers and followers
  • Surface insights, trends, and audience feedback to internal stakeholders

Campaign & Event Support

  • Support execution across campaigns, launches, and key business moments
  • Assist with live coverage across auctions, trade shows, and events as needed
  • Coordinate with internal teams to capture and distribute timely content

Analytics & Performance Tracking

  • Track and report on performance including reach, engagement, growth, and conversions
  • Support weekly and monthly reporting with clear insights and recommendations
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to inform planning

Internal Advocacy & EveryoneSocial Support

  • Support content distribution through EveryoneSocial across priority teams
  • Assist with uploading, tagging, and organizing content for employee advocacy
  • Help monitor performance and participation trends
  • Provide basic support and guidance to internal users as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience managing social media across multiple accounts, brands, or business units
  • Strong working knowledge of platform best practices across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
  • Proven experience using social publishing and analytics tools, including Hootsuite (required)
  • Experience working with employee advocacy platforms, including EveryoneSocial (preferred)
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt tone by platform and audience
  • Hands-on experience supporting campaigns, launches, and always-on content programs
  • Experience supporting live and real-time coverage across events or activations
  • Working knowledge of basic video editing and formatting for social platforms
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience or interest in industrial, construction, transportation, or equipment markets
