Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilledSoftware Engineerto join our Data Engineering team. You will design, develop, andmaintainrobust data pipelines and transformation layers that enable data-driven decision-making across the business.You'llwork closely with data architects, business analysts, analytics engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver high-quality, reliable data products at scale. The Data Engineering team designs, builds, andoperatesscalable data pipelines that power analytics, reporting, and machine learning across the organization. Our platform ingests data from multiple transactional systems, streaming platforms, and third-party integrations into our cloud data warehouse. We are also investing in AI-driven development practices to accelerate delivery and improve data quality across the platform.
- Design, build, andmaintainscalable ETL/ELT data pipelines usingdbt, Python, and SQL.
- Develop andoptimizewarehouse-native transformations and analytical data assets within cloud data warehouses (Snowflake,BigQuery).
- Develop andmaintainSnowflake semantic views to provide consistent, governed definitions of business metrics and KPIs across reporting tools.
- Build and manage workflow orchestration using Apache Airflow (AWS MWAA).
- Implement andmaintainreal-time streaming ingestion using Kafka and Snowpipe Streaming.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies by tracing data lineage, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective fixes to ensure accuracy and reliability of key business metrics.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines for data code deployment usingCircleCI, Harness, and GitHub Actions.
- Maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Design andmaintaindata models (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas) to support analytics and reporting needs.
- Monitor pipeline health,optimizequery performance, and ensure platform observability using Datadog.
- Leverage AI-driven development tools and practices to improve engineering productivity, code quality, and pipeline reliability.
- Define and apply standards for data quality, governance, and lineage across the platform.
- Build andmaintaindata governance metrics and dashboards to track data quality, lineage coverage, ownership, and policy compliance across the platform.
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Support data consumption layers including Power BI, Tableau, and Looker.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of organizational priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, orrelatedfield.
- 3to 6years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a data focus.
- Strongproficiencyin Python (required) and SQL, with a solid foundation in object-oriented programming; experience withadditionallanguages such as Java or Scala is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake,BigQuery) — Snowflake experience highly preferred, including semantic views and access governance features.
- Experience withdbtfor data transformation.
- Experience with data modeling — dimensional modeling, star schemas, and data vault.
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Apache Airflow preferred).
- Familiarity with streaming technologies (Apache Kafka,Snowpipe).
- Experience with AWS services (S3, MWAA, Glue).
- Proficiencywith Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD tools (CircleCI, Harness, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with Datadog or similar monitoring and observability platforms.
- Proficiencywith Git/GitHub and modern development workflows.
- Openness to adopting AI-driven development tools and methodologies.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker/LookML.
- Experience with data governance and cataloging tools (Horizon Catalog or Select Star).
- Knowledge ofHashiCorpVault orsecretsmanagement solutions.
- Experience with data quality/testing frameworks.
