Description
The Transportation Coordinator supports Transportation Managers by helping to find, assign, and communicate with tow vendors, while also assisting with administrative tasks and team support. This role requires a basic understanding of transportation processes and systems and the ability to follow established procedures to resolve issues and keep operations running smoothly. The Transportation Coordinator helps ensure company standards are followed, assists with reviewing tow rates, and supports efficient case management. This role works closely with internal teams, tow vendors, and branch leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of towing operations, vendor compliance requirements, and insurance standards
- Experience in rate negotiation and contract administration preferred
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Transportation Management Systems (Salesforce, ASAP, Five9, My Carrier)
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities
- Place outbound and receive inbound calls from tow vendors
- Verify qualification documents, insurance coverage, and equipment details
- Negotiate tow vendor rates and ensure updates are entered into the Transportation Management System
- Manage recruitment cases, follow up with leads, and complete branch requests
- Maintain professional, ongoing relationships with towing vendors
- Provide a variety of customer support services through the mail, telephone, and direct personal contact
- Process orders and assignments and enter data into our internal computer systems
- Reference SLA and rules information for method and cadence of responses
- Respond to customer questions, inquiries, and requests
- Set up new and existing assignments with necessary information for towing partners
- Maintain consistent performance to meet SLAs
- Perform other tasks as needed
